Hafan Bach - dog friendly cottages in the historic township of Kidwelly, Carmarthenshire

Our dog friendly cottages are the perfect base for your Welsh adventure, conveniently situated in the historic township of Kidwelly, halfway between Carmarthen and Llanelli, Carmarthenshire.

As well as lovely walks to enjoy with your dog there are shops, pubs and takeaways all in easy walking distance and lovely walks including Cymer canal, Kidwelly Quay and the footpath below the 900 year old Kidwelly Castle.

The stunning 8 mile long blue flag Cefn Sidan beach & Pembrey country park are a short car drive away as are Ffos las race course, Pembrey motor circuit & Glyn Abbey golf course. Carmarthenshire is known as the garden of Wales and is home to the National botanic Gardens of Wales, 25 mins from Kidwelly and well worth a visit at any time of year.

We moved to Wales 5 years ago and when we were house hunting struggled to find dog friendly places to stay which would allow our 4 dogs, that got us thinking!

Our first project was Hafan Bach. Hafan Bach is Welsh for Little Haven and we hope you will agree that is just what the cottage is. The cottage had been empty for many years when we purchased it and it took us over a year of blood sweat and tears to renovate and be ready for our first guests. We worked hard to retain the character of the cottage by restoring original features and cosy feel.

The cottage is a 3 bed terrace with open plan kitchen diner and cosy lounge, many guests first comment on arrival is that the cottage is much larger than you would expect from the outside. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 with double beds and one with a single. The master bedroom also has a TV. There is a shower room upstairs and a bathroom with shower over bath downstairs. French doors from the dining area open out onto an enclosed dog friendly garden with outside seating area and undercover BBQ area. We have tried to include everything you will need to make your stay a real home from home experience.

We have recently complete the renovation of our second project Ty Clyd which is Welsh for cosy house. Ty Clyd is also super dog friendly and has the additional benefit of rear access to the garden, perfect for returning from a muddy walk or bike ride. Also 3 bedroom we have opted for bunk beds in the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms making Ty Clyd ideal for family groups

Both properties are on the same road making them ideal for 2 families to be able to have all the fun of holidaying together whilst each having their own space too!
